CVE-2022-30904

Memory corruption via unchecked provisioning segment count

Published Feb 1, 2023 · Updated Mar 27, 2025

Buffer overflow in Bestechnic Bluetooth Mesh SDK 1.0 for BES2300 allows physically proximate attackers to corrupt memory during provisioning. The provisioning code accepts the Transaction Start PDU's SegN field without checking it against the available segment buffer. Bluetooth proximity and an active provisioning exchange are required; published sources do not establish whether exploitation causes a crash or code execution.
