Stored XSS via unencoded forum names
Published Jun 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in FUDforum 3.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser via a crafted forum name. Forum Manager stores an administrator-supplied Forum Name and renders it on the forum index and group administration page without safe output encoding. Administrator access is required to plant the payload, and a victim must view an affected page; execution inherits that viewer's FUDforum privileges.
