Arbitrary code execution via uninitialized pointer
Published Dec 7, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Access of an uninitialized pointer in GE Digital CIMPLICITY 2022 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code. The gmmiObj!CGmmiRootOptionTable code path permits data from a faulting address to control execution flow instead of rejecting the invalid pointer state. The published vector requires local access and user interaction; successful exploitation executes code in the CIMPLICITY process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
