Remote code execution via Content-Type validation bypass
Published May 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in EliteCMS 1.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code through admin/manage_uploads.php. The handler accepts a PHP file when its multipart Content-Type begins with image/ and stores it in the web-accessible uploads directory. Code execution occurs when the uploaded file is requested; the published request includes a PHP session cookie and an administrative-page referrer.
