Service interruption via oversized runlist allocation

Heap exhaustion in ntfs_get_attribute_value in NTFS-3G 2021.8.22 and earlier allows attackers to interrupt service via a crafted NTFS image. The function allocates and reads the final runlist extent at its declared length instead of limiting the operation to the validated attribute size, permitting malicious metadata to trigger excessive allocation. Exploitation requires local invocation of an affected tool or physical delivery of external storage, and the documented consequence for this flaw is memory exhaustion.
