Root command execution via unsafe sudo script
Published May 2, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025
Privilege escalation in Nokia One-NDS 20.9 and earlier allows local users in specific service accounts to execute commands as root. The root-executable /opt/cntdb/bin/noscripts_rpm.sh script passes its second argument unquoted to rpm during erase operations, allowing an RPM Lua expression to invoke a shell. Access to the Provgw, notifs, or dbmrun system accounts is required; successful exploitation grants unrestricted root command execution.
