Local activity launch via unprotected dynamic receiver
Published Jun 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper privilege management in Samsung Members before 4.2.00.5 allows local users to launch arbitrary activities through a dynamic receiver. A dynamically registered broadcast receiver lacks protection and accepts an external intent that starts an activity selected by the sender. An unprivileged local application can reach the receiver, and Samsung's assessment limits the resulting impact to information exposure.
