Stored XSS via unescaped publisher name
Published Sep 26, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in WordLift before 3.37.2 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to run scripts in browsers. The publisher-name setting stores attacker-supplied HTML without sanitization or output escaping and renders it when the Publisher page loads. Administrator privileges are required, and a victim must load the affected page; the script runs in that victim's WordPress browser session even when unfiltered_html is disabled.
