Memory disclosure via crafted file out-of-bounds read
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe InDesign 16.4.2 and earlier and 17.3 and earlier allows attackers to disclose sensitive memory via a malicious file. The parser reads beyond an allocated memory boundary while processing crafted InDesign content, exposing adjacent process data and potentially weakening ASLR. Exploitation requires a victim to open the malicious file, and the documented impact is memory confidentiality without integrity or availability effects.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
