Repository disclosure via unrestricted bulk-import URL schemes
Published Oct 17, 2022 · Updated May 13, 2025
Improper access control in GitLab allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary project repositories through bulk imports. RepositoryPipeline accepts httpUrlToRepo from the source server, permits file URLs because no schemes are specified, and passes the URL to git fetch. This exposes repository contents without granting modification or service interruption and requires a known project ID and storage path.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
