Administrator impersonation via attacker-chosen session identifier
Published Aug 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Session fixation in WWBN AVideo 11.6 and dev master commit 3f7c0364 allows remote attackers to gain administrator privileges. The _session_start() wrapper accepts PHPSESSID from the query string, closes any active session, and starts a session with the attacker-chosen identifier. User interaction is required: a targeted user must open the crafted link and authenticate within the one-hour session lifetime before the attacker reuses that identifier.
