Root command execution via unvalidated iperf server address
Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
OS command injection in Abode Systems, Inc. iota All-In-One Security Kit 6.9X and 6.9Z allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The /action/iperf handler inserts the unvalidated server_ip POST value into an iperf command string and passes it to popen for execution as root. The local web interface is disabled by default and must be enabled and reached with valid authentication; successful exploitation grants root command execution on the security hub.
