CVE-2022-30598Network attack vector

Author identity disclosure via unchecked search metadata

Published May 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information disclosure in affected Moodle LMS releases allows remote authenticated users to view restricted content-author identities. Global-search result metadata exposes document authors without checking the user-detail or course-participant capabilities that govern those identities. Any account able to use global search can obtain author information for indexed activities whose underlying author details remain inaccessible.
