CPU exhaustion via incomplete QUIC requests
Published Jul 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in quic-go 0.27.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to exhaust CPU via incomplete QUIC or HTTP/3 requests. The reported Slowloris variant leaves requests incomplete while mtu_discoverer.go misparses MTU Discovery state and overflows the probe timer. The attack requires network access to a quic-go endpoint; the maintainer disputes that the behavior qualifies as a vulnerability.
