CVE-2022-30540

Arbitrary code execution via uninitialized pointer

Published Jun 1, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Heap overflow in Horner Automation Cscape before 9.90 SP5 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through malicious Csfont input. Csfont processing accesses an uninitialized pointer and overruns a heap buffer; the public advisory does not identify the triggering field. Exploitation requires user interaction with attacker-controlled input, and resulting code runs in the Cscape process.
