Employee-photo disclosure via unauthenticated folder access
Published Nov 8, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Missing authentication in employee-photo folders in ZKTeco BioTime 8.5.4 allows remote attackers to read photos by enumerating filenames. The web server exposes stored employee images through directly requestable folder paths without checking for an authenticated session. Network access to the BioTime web service is sufficient; successful enumeration discloses employee photographs but does not permit modification or service interruption.
