Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via path traversal
Published May 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in DedeCMS 5.7.93 upload.php allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files via the delete parameter. The administrative upload handler accepts traversal sequences in delete and uses the resulting path for file removal without restricting it to the upload directory. Administrative privileges are required, and deletion can corrupt site data or interrupt the service without exposing file contents.
