Unauthenticated service interruption via unchecked SSID copy
Published May 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda AC18 firmware 15.03.05.19(6318) allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted SSID. The form_fast_setting_wifi_set handler passes the user-supplied ssid parameter to strcpy without checking its length, overflowing the fixed stack buffer s. The vulnerable HTTP endpoint accepts an unauthenticated network request, and the documented consequence is service interruption rather than data disclosure or modification.
