Database compromise via unescaped category ID
Published May 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Merchandise Online Store v1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read or modify database data via the category management id parameter. The admin maintenance/manage_category route concatenates the supplied id into a database query, so quote and boolean payloads alter SQL evaluation and expose database information. Exploitation requires network access and a valid administrative session; the documented impact spans database confidentiality, integrity, and service availability.
