Authenticated stored XSS via profile fields
Published Oct 25, 2024 · Updated Oct 29, 2024
Stored XSS in OvalEdge 5.2.8.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through profile fields. The /profile/updateProfile endpoint accepts slackid or phone values in POST requests and stores them without sufficient neutralization for later page rendering. Authentication is required, and execution occurs when another user views the affected profile content, enabling actions in that user’s browser context.
