Encrypted password disclosure via login-form SQL injection
Published May 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Bonanza Wealth Management System 7.3.2 allows remote attackers to read encrypted passwords through its login form. Login processing fails to neutralize SQL syntax in the User Name field; a tautology payload changes the Microsoft SQL Server query result and returns stored password ciphertext. No credentials or user interaction are required, and the disclosed passwords remain encrypted rather than plaintext.
