CVE-2022-30325

Wireless network access via predictable default key

Published Jun 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Predictable Wi-Fi credentials in TRENDnet TEW-831DR firmware 1.0_601.130.1.1356 allow physically proximate attackers to access its networks. The factory pre-shared key is identical across devices except for its final four digits, reducing both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz keys to a guessable space. Exploitation requires wireless range and an unchanged factory key; successful guessing grants network access under that shared credential.
