Process crash via password-protected ZIP processing
Published May 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in HashiCorp go-getter 1.5.11 and earlier and 2.0.0 through 2.0.2 allows remote attackers to crash a consumer process. HashiCorp has not published the function or error-handling operation that turns password-protected ZIP processing into a panic. Exposure requires a consuming application to pass an attacker-controlled password-protected ZIP file to the library; successful triggering terminates that process.
