Firmware manipulation via unauthenticated CDA commands
Published Aug 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authentication in Honeywell Experion LX through 2022-05-06 allows remote attackers to manipulate firmware or reboot devices via CDA EpicMo on TCP/55565. The CDA EpicMo control-data protocol exposes firmware-download and reboot functions without any authentication check, allowing commands from any network-connected attacker. The resulting impact is firmware integrity loss or device service interruption; the record does not establish arbitrary code execution or confidentiality impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
