CVE-2022-30311Network attack vector

Pre-auth root command execution via unchecked port syntax

Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

OS command injection in Festo CECC-X-M1 and Servo Press Kit firmware allows remote attackers to execute system commands as root. The cecc-x-refresh-request POST endpoint accepts a port value without validating its syntax and passes attacker-controlled content into a system command. Access to the embedded web server is sufficient; no authentication or user interaction is required, and commands run with full device privileges.
