Man-in-the-middle attacks via lost RSA SSH host key

Key management error in Fortinet FortiOS allows remote attackers to impersonate SSH services through a lost RSA host key. The appliance discards its RSA SSH host key during shutdown instead of preserving a stable server identity, so clients cannot distinguish the regenerated key from an attacker-controlled key. Fortinet lists 6.4.0 through 6.4.9, 7.0.1 through 7.0.6, and 7.2.0 as affected; exploitation requires a shutdown event and client acceptance of the changed key, enabling interception or modification of an SSH session.
