CVE-2022-30278Network attack vector

Browser data exposure via reflected help-content XSS

Published May 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Black Duck Hub before 2022.4.0 allows remote attackers to access browser data through crafted links. The embedded MadCap Flare help framework fails to validate user-supplied content before returning it through the documentation interface. Exploitation requires a user to click an attacker-controlled link, after which script executes in the browser context and can expose sensitive browser-based information.
