Cryptographic weakness in Motorola MDLC through 2022-05-02 allows remote attackers to disclose traffic patterns and manipulate messages. Legacy Encryption applies TEA in ECB mode without whole-message authentication, exposing repeated-block structure and permitting ciphertext blocks to be rearranged. Exploitation requires network access to MDLC traffic using Legacy Encryption; other MDLC security modes are outside the reported vulnerable condition.
