Controller configuration alteration via crafted packets
Published Jul 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in Honeywell Alerton Compass Software 1.6.5 allows remote attackers to alter controller configurations. A crafted network packet stores attacker-supplied configuration data on a controller for implementation without authentication or a matching UI update. Exploitation requires network reachability and user interaction; successful changes alter controller functions and leave operators viewing stale configuration data.
