CVE-2022-30243Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked BACnet programming

Published Jul 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Code injection in Honeywell Alerton Visual Logic through 2022-05-04 allows remote attackers to overwrite controller programs. The controller accepts a fixed sequence of BACnet programming commands with only a dynamic invoke ID, performs no source authorization check, and stores and runs the submitted logic without verification. Network access to an Alerton controller is sufficient to alter or stop its control program, and restoration requires the legitimate program to be overwritten.
