Administrative account creation via unauthenticated API
Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Nov 12, 2025
Missing authentication in the Siemens SICAM GridEdge (Classic) web server before 2.6.6 allows remote attackers to create administrative users. A critical account-creation API accepts requests without requiring authentication and provisions the new account with administrative permissions. Network access to TCP port 8900 is sufficient, and successful exploitation grants control through a newly created administrator account.
