CVE-2022-30193

Code execution via crafted media processing

Published Jun 15, 2022 · Updated Jan 2, 2025

Remote code execution in Microsoft AV1 Video Extension before 1.1.51091.0 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted media. Microsoft has not published the affected decoder routine or the incorrect operation performed on untrusted AV1 data. Exploitation requires an installed extension and user interaction that causes a program to process a specially crafted file, resulting in code execution in the user context.
