CVE-2022-30145Network attack vector

Authenticated remote code execution

Published Jun 15, 2022 · Updated Jan 2, 2025

Remote code execution in Microsoft Windows Encrypting File System allows remote authenticated users to execute code over a network. Microsoft has not published the affected EFS code locus or the operation it performs incorrectly on attacker-controlled input. Exploitation requires low-privileged credentials, no user interaction, high attack complexity, and preparation of the target environment; successful attacks compromise the EFS service context.
