CVE-2022-30137Public exploit

Host root takeover via DCA symlink race

Published Jun 15, 2022 · Updated Jan 2, 2025

Privilege escalation in Microsoft Service Fabric clusters running Docker containers allows local users to gain root access on Linux nodes. The root-level Diagnostics Collection Agent's GetIndex path follows a substituted symlink between reading and rewriting a container-controlled index file. Exploitation requires code execution in a container with runtime access and permits control of the host node and, consequently, the cluster.
