Stored XSS via executable SVG file previews
Published May 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Jirafeau before 4.4.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a visitor's browser through a file preview URL. The default-enabled preview path serves attacker-uploaded image/svg+xml content inline, allowing embedded JavaScript to run in the site's origin. Exploitation requires an attacker to upload a crafted SVG and another user to open its preview URL, exposing data and actions available to that browser session.
