Remote access via serial-derived SSH credentials
Published Jan 2, 2024 · Updated Jun 4, 2025
Predictable SSH credentials in Priva TopControl Suite before 8.7.8.0 allow remote attackers to obtain remote product access. The SSH password is derived from the device serial number with insufficient computational effort, allowing the credential to be calculated. The attack requires network reachability to SSH and the target serial number; successful login exposes the product through its SSH account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
