CVE-2022-30079Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unsanitized IPv6 gateway

Published Sep 8, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Command injection in NETGEAR R6200v2 firmware 1.0.3.12 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. In /sbin/acos_service, the ipv6_wan_gateway value is formatted with sprintf and passed unescaped to system after the web interface stores it in NVRAM. Access to the router management interface and valid credentials are required; successful exploitation executes commands on the embedded operating system.
