CVE-2022-30013Network attack vector

Stored XSS via JavaScript-bearing PDF upload

Published May 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stored XSS in the upload function of Total.js CMS 3.4.5 allows remote authenticated users to run script through a crafted PDF. The upload path accepts and stores a PDF containing embedded JavaScript without neutralizing the active content, and the script runs when the stored document is opened. Low-privileged CMS access is required to upload the file, and another user's interaction exposes that user's browser session to script-driven data access or modification.
