Persistent account access via unexpired sessions
Published Aug 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Session fixation in Grokability Snipe-IT before 6.0.10 allows remote authenticated users to retain account access after a password change. ProfileController::passwordSave writes the replacement password but leaves other authenticated sessions valid because the web middleware stack omits AuthenticateSession. Exploitation requires a previously issued session cookie and a password change by the account holder; the stale session preserves that account's authorized access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
