Cross-site scripting via unsafe strip-marker restoration

Cross-site scripting in the MediaWiki RSS Extension before 2022-04-29 allows remote attackers to execute script in visitors' browsers. The extension restores strip-item placeholders inside an HTML attribute without protecting quote characters, letting a whitelisted feed escape the attribute. Exploitation requires $wgRSSAllowLinkTag to be true, the malicious feed URL to be whitelisted, and a visitor to render the affected RSS output.
