Privileged shell access via hardcoded SSH credentials
Published Jul 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Hardcoded credentials in Emerson DeltaV WIOC through 2022-04-29 allow local users to obtain privileged shell access over SSH. The WIOC SSH service accepts embedded passwords for the root, DeltaV, and backup accounts instead of device-specific credentials. Local low-privileged access is required, and successful use exposes shell data without reported integrity or availability impact.
