Remote code execution via hardcoded maintenance credentials
Published Jul 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Hardcoded credentials in Bently Nevada 3701/4X before 4.1 and 60M100 allow remote attackers to execute code or interrupt service. The TCP port 4001 maintenance interface accepts undocumented credentials embedded in the firmware instead of site-specific credentials. Network reachability to the interface is the only reported gate, and successful authentication grants its debug and process-execution capabilities.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
