Unauthenticated PLC control via authentication-free CMPLink commands
Published Jul 26, 2022 · Updated Oct 27, 2024
Missing authentication in JTEKT PC10G-CPU TCC-6353 firmware allows remote attackers to alter PLC settings, data, or service. Its CMPLink/TCP handler accepts engineering commands for project transfer, configuration changes, and controller start or stop without authenticating the sender. The attacker must reach the configured TCP or UDP port, after which unauthenticated commands can manipulate control state or interrupt PLC operation.
