CVE-2022-29944Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Traffic redirection failure via incorrect path comparison

Published Apr 20, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025

Incorrect path comparison in ONOS 2.5.1 allows remote attackers to prevent higher-priority intents from redirecting network traffic. The intent framework incorrectly compares shared paths and keeps the existing path active instead of applying the new intent's greater priority. Exploitation requires submitting an overlapping intent through the control plane; traffic remains on the old path instead of following the intended higher-priority route.
