CVE-2022-29922Network attack vector

Server denial of service via mismatched data type

Published Sep 14, 2022 · Updated Jun 4, 2025

Improper input validation in Hitachi Energy MicroSCADA SYS600's IEC 61850 OPC Server allows remote attackers to interrupt the server. The server accepts a valid IEC 61850 data item carrying an incorrect data type and mishandles the mismatch instead of rejecting the packet. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient; affected releases are MicroSCADA Pro SYS600 9.4 FP2 Hotfix 4 and earlier and MicroSCADA X SYS600 10 through 10.3.1.
