CVE-2022-29911Network attack vector

Script execution via iframe sandbox navigation bypass

Published Dec 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Sandbox bypass in Mozilla Firefox before 100, Firefox ESR before 91.9, and Thunderbird before 91.9 allows remote attackers to execute scripts. The allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation implementation lets a sandboxed iframe navigate its top-level context and run script even when allow-scripts is absent. A victim must load attacker-controlled content and activate the navigation; script runs in the browser context and can expose or modify cross-origin data.
