CVE-2022-29894Network attack vector

Administrator-browser script execution via unsanitized file upload

Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stored XSS in Strapi 3.x.x and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in an administrator's browser via file upload. The file-upload function stores user-supplied data without sufficient sanitization, and the administrative interface later renders it as active script. Exploitation requires low-privileged network access to upload crafted content and an administrator to view it; reported impact is limited to browser-side confidentiality and integrity.
