Stored XSS via unsanitized sidebar support link
Published Jul 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Octopus Server's help sidebar allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser through a crafted support link. The sidebar customization accepts a support-link value containing an XSS payload and later renders that stored value for portal users without safe neutralization. Execution requires a portal user to render the poisoned sidebar content, and resulting access is limited to the affected browser session.
