CVE-2022-29886Public exploit

Code execution via Mini FAT size overflow

Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Integer overflow in ESTsoft ALYac 2.5.8.544 OLE parsing allows local users to execute arbitrary code via a crafted OLE file. The parser multiplies the attacker-controlled Mini FAT sector count by the sector size in 32 bits, then allocates the wrapped result and repeatedly copies full sectors into the undersized heap buffer. Exploitation requires ALYac to scan the file and results in code execution in the affected process.
