CVE-2022-29859

Denial of service via DHCP use-after-free

Published Apr 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Use-after-free in ambiot amb1_sdk before 2022-03-11 allows physically proximate attackers to cause a denial of service. The DHCP server in component/common/network/dhcp/dhcps.c uses released memory while processing data structures from a specially crafted DHCP message. The issue is reachable when a device exposes the affected DHCP service, including access-point mode within Wi-Fi range; the documented consequence is a denial-of-service condition, while the exact failure mode is undisclosed.
